In practice since 2005, Dr. Del Hoyo is a board-certified bariatric surgeon with vast experience in advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgical techniques. His mission for Bariatrics Health Mexico is to make life-changing weight loss surgery affordable and accessible to those who could benefit from it most.
You’ll find Dr. Del Hoyo at our bariatrics offices in Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, along with Dr. Christian O. Ramirez, a fellow bariatric surgeon, and Dr. Jessy Mendez, our resident anesthesiologist. He is fluent in English and Spanish.

When he’s not working with patients, Dr. Del Hoyo likes finding a thrill outdoors. He is an avid scuba diver and motorcycle rider. Most of all, he is a lifelong lover of animals. Dr. Del Hoyo maintains his own saltwater aquarium, and he loves horses and participating in show jumping. He is the proud owner of nine pet dogs.

Whole process with Dr. Del Hoyo went perfect from start to finish. All travel and lodging was set up well did not have any problems. Dr. Del Hoyo is very caring and compassianant and you can tell he wants you to succeed on your journey. His knowledge is top notch and he is happy to answer any questions you may have. I was scared at first, but Dr Sergio was able to reassure me that everything would be fine. The whole experience was worth the trip and cost. Dr. Sergio when above and beyond, he found that I had a hernia, he fixed this as well, at no cost. The staff that assisted Dr. Sergio were amazing. Of course Dr. Sergio was hands down the best man for the job. I would highly recommend Dr. Sergio for bypass ( that’s what I had )
